Engagement

My experience as a student is also reflected in my personal commitment to various causes. It is also a way to learn more about subjects that I find particularly enriching but also very important in society. Above all, it allows me to contribute and participate in these fights, at my own level.

Medlife

Vice-President, 2021-2022

President, 2022-2023

Medlife's mission is to build a worldwide Movement empowering the poor in their fight for equal access to healthcare, education, and a safe home.

In order to achieve the ultimate goal of a world free from the constraints of poverty, I had the opportunity to travel with Medlife to Cusco, Peru. I went on a two weeks Service Learning Trip to help with community development projects, and educational workshops to empower communities in need. We met and assisted general practitioners, dentists, gynecologists, pharmacists, nurses and other health professionals.

Being able to speak Spanish allowed me to get even closer to the different communities and to be able to exchange with them in order to help in the best possible way. I discovered a culture that is extremely rich in history and that develops itself between tradition and modernity. This trip allowed me to see what kind of world I wanted to fight for, and that each of our actions are the beginnings of the society we are working for. By choosing my battles, I commit myself through my student journey to fight for a society based on respect, mutual aid and progress.

SimONU

The United Nations General Assembly simulations are essentially the promotion of the UN values of peace and diversity. The Model United Nations encourages personal development through group work and public speaking. In practice, during the simulations, each delegation of the SimONU team puts itself in the shoes of diplomats by representing a country and defining a strategy on an international issue. This simulation game demonstrates the complexity of decision-making while respecting the diversity of cultures and geopolitical issues.

Being member of this committee at school allowed me to discover multiples aspects of diplomacy and especially within the UN. For example, defending the interests of the represented country while favouring consensus, in order to have a draft resolution adopted by a majority vote, all this while respecting the UN protocol.

AVE

Communication ambassador, 2019

AVE is an association created in 1997 by several families sensitive to the needs of children in Vietnam. Its main objective is to allow the poorest children to go to school. On the other hand, AVE has also developed a health program and professional training.

In more than two decades, AVE has built 11 schools and provided schooling for a large number of children. Currently, we are supporting 840 children and students through collective sponsorship.

The association is represented by a group of students in my high school where I had the chance to take care of the communication and events with the representative. We were able to organize fundraising events to finance the education of many children. During the covid period, we replaced the trip to Hanoi with many video conferences with the nuns in Vietnam. We sold many bags of rice and pepper from Vietnam, the bags being handmade by the children and the sisters. This money was used to finance the construction of new classrooms adapted for handicapped children in order to facilitate their integration in society.
